No matter the time of year you visit Walt Disney World, magic is sure to delight you and your family. However, at certain times of year, the resort feels just a bit more special. No time feels quite as special to me as the holiday season at the parks, and with the nighttime event, Disney Very Merriest After Hours, that’s especially true.

What is Disney Very Merriest After Hours?

Disney Very Merriest After Hours is a unique nighttime event held on select nights at Magic Kingdom park throughout the holiday season. This ticketed event allows guests to have access to the park after it has closed to daytime guests, boasting shorter ride wait times, special holiday entertainment featuring your favourite characters, and treats to enjoy around the park, like ice cream, popcorn and select beverages, all included with your ticket!

Magical Holiday Entertainment

One of the main perks of this event is the exciting holiday entertainment around the park. Guests will love Mickey & Minnie’s Very Merry Memories, a beautiful holiday performance in front of Cinderella Castle, celebrating holiday classic stories and songs.

Of course, a trip to the park wouldn’t be complete without a parade or fireworks show, and this event offers both! Each night at the event, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade makes its way through the park and even features the jolly man in red himself, Santa Claus! After the parade, cast your eyes to the sky as Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show delights guests with stunning colours set to some of your favourite holiday tunes.

What About My Favourite Rides?

While the holiday entertainment during this event is without parallel, one of the best perks of this event is that it’s a limited ticket event, meaning the park is less crowded than it is during normal park hours. Because of this, you can often get quicker access to more than 20 attractions around the park. If you want to enjoy your favourite ride several times, this may be your opportunity to do it! I recommend taking a journey on the holiday-themed Jingle Cruise during the event. It can really help get you in the holiday spirit!
