Why I Love Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Ask any Disney fan what their favourite resort is around Walt Disney World and you’re sure to get an enthusiastic reply, detailing why their favourite resort is the best. From the food, to the theming, to the recreation, each Walt Disney World Resort hotel offers something different for each type of guest, whether you’re traveling solo, as a group, as a couple, or as a family.

My favourite value resort on property is Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Let me take you on a little tour and show you just why this resort is special to me and why my family and I love it!

First off, the theming is incredible! Though Pop (as I like to call it) is a Value resort (meaning lower on cost, high on value), the attention to detail around the property is incredible. This resort celebrates popular fads and icons through the decades, from the 1950s through the 1990s. Look around and you’ll find many great references and nods, including everything from fashion, to toys, to your favourite characters.

Next, I have to tell you about the recreation and dining options, our favourite things to do around the resort. Disney’s Pop Century Resort offers three themed pools – the 60s-inspired Hippy Dippy Pool (featuring a kid’s area), the 50s-themed Bowling Pool and the 90s-inspired Computer Pool. The food options are also amazing! Value Resorts are known for their Quick Service options and Everything Pop doesn’t disappoint. Make sure to hang around after dinner and check out the delicious (and whimsical) Tie-dye Cheesecake, boasting bright colours and a red velvet cake layer on the bottom!

Another plus of Disney’s Pop Century Resort is the rooms. The resort has recently undergone a renovation, so the rooms have a refreshed, contemporary look and feel. There are several options for guests here, and everything from standard to pool view rooms may be available.

Finally, I love the transportation options at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. While it offers bus transportation to the parks and Disney Springs, it also offers rides to and from EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios via the Disney Skyliner. It’s a great way to not only get to those parks, but also get a bird’s eye view of Walt Disney World!
